Kinetic uptake rates of lactate in vivo surpassed that of glucose in R3230Ac mammary carcinomas. The uptake appeared specific to aerobic tumor regions, which is consistent with the ‘‘metabolic symbiont’’ hypothesis. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24069390
