Postdoctoral, PhD and technician: 3 positions in Cancer Metabolism – University of Louvain (UCL)

Position 1: Postdoc Grantee

A non-taxable grant for a 3-year position (1 + 2 years) is available for a Postdoc in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux at UCL (Brussels, Belgium) starting on October 1st, 2017. The postdoctoral fellow will conduct a translational project in the field of cancer metabolism, focused on metastatic prevention. Requirements:

 

-          Holder of a PhD degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical Sciences or related.

-          Excellence in Cancer Research, especially biochemistry, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry.

-          Recent practice of in vivo experiments in mice (gavage, ip injection, blood sampling, tumor growth measurements, surgery, imaging).

-          Valid license (from any university) to work with small laboratory animals.

-          At least 2 publications in peer-reviewed journals with impact factor higher than 2.

-          International mobility (less than 1 year spent in Belgium over the last 3 years).

-          2 recommendation letters from Principal Investigators.

-          Fluid in spoken and written English.

 

Position 2: PhD Student

A non-taxable grant for a 4-year position (2 years renewable) is available for a PhD in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux at UCL (Brussels, Belgium) starting on October 1st, 2017. The PhD student will conduct a translational project in the field of cancer metabolism, focused on the metabolic control of cancer resistance to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Requirements:

 

-          Holder of a graduation degree/Master in Medical, Pharmaceutical or Biomedical Sciences or related.

-          Excellent grades and/or class rankings.

-          High level of motivation.

-          Previous work in a laboratory environment will be a plus.

-          Fluid in spoken and written English.

 

Position 3: Laboratory technician

A 3-year temporary position is available for a Laboratory Technician in the team of Prof. Pierre Sonveaux at UCL (Brussels, Belgium) starting on October 1st, 2017. The technician will be involved in various translational projects in Cancer Research. Requirements:

 

-          Diploma of Laboratory Technician in Biomedical Sciences or related.

-          No university graduation diploma.

-          Motivation will prime over experience.

-          Good level of spoken English (work in an international team).
